Hope Reins Programs

In equine therapy counseling, the horse acts as a metaphor for relationships, which provides clients the opportunity to look at what works, what doesn’t work, whose needs are being met, whose problem it is, and to take responsibility for recognizing how personal actions affect others.

Hope Reins utilizes the EAGALA method of Equine Assisted Learning and Psychotherapy, in conjunction with cutting edge counseling services that include comprehensive Assessment and Diagnostic services, ADD and ADHD Testing, Coaching, Tutoring, and Traditional Counseling Services for Individuals, Children, Teens, Families and Couples struggling with marriages. We are dedicated to matching you up with the best clinician and method to help you feel hope again.

At Hope Reins our Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) learning programs are all customized for our client's individual needs. Equine therapy is the discipline of using horses as a means to provide metaphoric experiences in order to promote emotional growth. The horses provide an excellent way for troubled youth to react when they are otherwise therapy resistant. Equine therapists will usually teach many lessons on ways in which horses learn, react, and follow instructions to the lives of youth themselves.

Corporate and Professional Growth Programs

Hope Reins also offers a variety of customized corporate team building, leadership, communication and professional growth programs.

What is the EAGALA Model?

Equine Assisted Depression TherapyThe EAGALA Model provides a standard and structure for providing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning sessions. Practicing within a model establishes a foundation of key values and beliefs, and provides a basis of good practice and professionalism. The EAGALA Model provides a framework of practice, but within that framework, there are infinite opportunities for creativity and adaptability to various therapeutic and facilitating styles.

  • The Team Approach – An Equine Specialist, a Mental Health professional, and horses work together with clients in all EAGALA sessions
  • Focus on the ground – All EAGALA sessions are on the ground with horses (no mounted work)
  • Solution-Oriented – The belief that our clients have the best solutions for themselves forms a foundation for the EAGALA approach.  Rather than instructing or directing solutions, we allow our clients to experiment, problem-solve, take risks, employ creativity, and find their own solutions that work best for them.
  • Code of Ethics - EAGALA has a code of ethics, and has a standard of professionalism and ethics
