Research shows that having a high emotional IQ is more important for success than IQ. Your child will learn how our brains are wired and how our brains can help or hijack our ability to maintain a calm and in control state--this is mindfulness. They will then learn and practice the following emotional IQ skills - Respect, Responsibility, Relationship Skills, Boundaries, Empathy, Choices and Consequences.
These skills have been shown to develop leadership qualities in adults and children and social and emotional strength. Working with horses helps your child understand how to maintain emotional regulation even when nervous or frustrated. Since horses are animals of prey they are sensitive to whether or not your child is practicing these skills. They will provide honest and immediate feedback when your child struggles but also when they reach their goals!
We only allow 10 participants so that each child will work with the horses individually and as part of the group. All activities are ground-based. There is no riding and no need for horse experience. Each camp is led by at least one Master's Level Licensed Counselor and at least one Eagala Certified equine specialist so that your child will be able to identify and achieve their goals.
