Brainspotting Therapy

Feeling Stuck? Overwhelmed?

Brainspotting Therapy Can Help You Find Your Way Back

Do you ever feel like you’re just going through the motions?

Maybe you have tried therapy, self-help and the advice of friends and yet you are still stuck. Maybe you used to love pursuing your goals, you felt excitement, and a sense of purpose—but now, it feels like you’re standing still while life goes by you.

You still do what you’re supposed to do. You take care of responsibilities, meet expectations, and show up for the people who depend on you. But inside, something feels off.

I’m Debra Hirschberg, the owner of Hope Reins and I am trained in Brainspotting. After seeing how traditional counseling doesn’t work for everyone, I went searching for counseling techniques that actually work. One of the more powerful and versatile approaches , I found was Brainspotting. It is an evidence based counseling technique that is based on brain science and connection. Brainspotting Therapy helps your brain process things in the background, untangling what’s been keeping you frozen so you can finally move forward. Imagine feeling free of anxiety, depression or trauma!

Signs you may be stuck.

  • You keep trying harder and you still don’t get results. You used to be able to achieve goals easily.

  • You feel disconnected. Days blur together, and nothing feels particularly exciting or meaningful.

  • You’re not sure what you want anymore. You have goals, but you don’t feel drawn toward anything specific.

  • You’ve lost your energy and drive. The things that used to drive you don’t feel the same, and you don’t know what goal to focus on.

  • You feel like you should be happy, but something is missing. On the outside, everything looks fine. But inside, you feel… stuck.

After Brainspotting, many people describe feeling a renewed sense of clarity and direction.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Feeling stuck is frustrating because it’s not always easy to explain. It’s not necessarily sadness or stress—it’s just a sense that something isn’t right, and you don’t know how to change.

Consider Brainspotting Therapy

And Instead Imagine….

Waking up with hope, purpose, and excitement again.

Having energy. Instead of feeling frozen, you start to feel like things are shifting and you have energy again.
More clarity about what you want. Decision-making feels easier, and new possibilities start to open up.
A return of motivation and excitement. You begin to reconnect with things that once brought you joy.
Less frustration with yourself. Instead of wondering “What’s wrong with me?” you start to feel like you again.

A deeper connection with yourself and your future.

Brainspotting and Christian Counseling

When you feel disconnected, or lost, you may struggle in your faith. Maybe you used to feel close to God, but now, that connection feels distant. You still pray, still try to lean on your faith, but something inside feels… off.

  • You wonder why God feels silent. You long for His presence, but it feels harder to hear Him.

  • You feel guilty for struggling. You know you “should” be grateful, strong, and faithful—but inside, you’re wrestling with doubt, exhaustion, or emptiness.

  • You’ve lost your sense of purpose. The things that once felt meaningful now feel unclear or out of reach.

  • You feel like you’re failing at something you can’t quite name. Others see you as capable, but inside, you’re questioning everything.

  • You just want to feel whole again. To experience peace, joy, and that deep connection to God that used to come so naturally.

  • You have been hurt by the church. You know it wasn’t God who hurt you but find yourself fearful or angry.

If any of this resonates, I want you to know: God has not forgotten you. He is still with you, even in the silence.

What Happens in a Brainspotting Session?

  • Step 1: Identify the issue you want to work on.

We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and what you hope to work on. This could be anything from anxiety and trauma to stress or performance issues.

  • Step 2: Find Your Brainspot

Using a pointer or your natural eye movements, we’ll identify a brainspot—a point in your visual field that activates an emotional or physical response. Our eyes are connected deep into your brain. Or as Shakespeare says “your eyes are the window to your soul”. Have you ever noticed you naturally look off into space when you are trying to think or recall something? That is a brainspot. Your brain and body already know where the pain and memories are stored; we’re just helping to unlock it.

  • Step 3: Process & Heal

You’ll focus on this brainspot while allowing your mind and body to naturally process emotions. You might experience an emotional release, physical sensations, or a new sense of clarity and relief.

  • Step 4: Integrate the Healing

We’ll discuss what came up for you, how you feel, and ways to carry this healing into your daily life. Brainspotting often leads to deeper insights and long-term emotional shifts. People often describe feeling lighter, clearer, or like something has shifted.

Brainspotting helps your mind unstick itself in a way that feels natural—without forcing, overthinking, or needing to have all the answers.

Take the first step toward feeling like yourself again.
